Law and Justice Policy is located within Policy Division in the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. We play a central role in addressing Queensland's key law and justice issues including:
- Corrective services and prisons
- Fair trading
- Police
- The Courts
- Law reform
- Freedom of information
- Security and terrorism prevention
- Crime and sentencing
- Drug courts
We also manage another unit relating to the criminal justice system:
- the Criminal Justice Research unit which provides specialised research to assist the Queensland Government in developing coordinated, evidence-based policies on criminal justice issues.
