Previous Fellows


2002

The successful 2002 Queensland Fellows, Dr Neil Gribble, Don Heron and Annette Hilton were hosted by the Smithsonian Institution's Environmental Research Centre, Arthur M Sackler and Freer Gallery of Art, and the Centre for Education and Museum Studies.

Dr Neil Gribble, a Senior Fisheries Biologist and Scientific Adviser to the Queensland Shark Program in the Department of Primary Industries, researched the possibility of managing the ecosystem of the Australian Great Barrier Reef World Heritage area.

Donald Heron undertook a research and development project aimed at investigating innovations in museum practice in the United States. Don is Head of Exhibitions and Display at the Queensland Art Gallery. 

Annette Hilton, worked collaboratively with the Smithsonian Institution, the Stuart-Hobson Middle School in the United States and Corinda State High School to adapt the Smithsonian Museum Magnet School model to a Queensland secondary school in a cross-curriculum setting. Annette has over 16 years experience in teaching and is currently Head of Department, Effective Learning and Teaching at Corinda State High School.
