Previous Fellows


2005

Premier Peter Beattie announced the 2005 Queensland - Smithsonian Fellows on 10 May 2005.  They are: Suhanya Raffel, Dr Angelina Russo and Geoff Thompson.

Suhanya Raffel, Head of Asian, Pacific and International Art at the Queensland Art Gallery, worked with colleagues at the Arthur M Sackler Gallery at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC to research, develop and implement a major loans program.

Dr Angelina Russo, Senior Research Associate in the Creative Industries Research and Applications Centre, Queensland University of Technology, researched the integration of new media technologies in developing communication methods for cultural interactive experiences at the Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York City.

Geoff Thompson, curatorial assistant and scientific illustrator in Entomology at the Queensland Museum, shared and developed his expertise in the field of scientific insect illustration within the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History in Washington DC.
