International Collaborations provides leadership across the Queensland Government to proactively position Queensland internationally and facilitate the State's relationships with international governments and organisations. Its goal is to increase strategic international collaborations that support the achievement of the Government's economic, environmental, social and cultural priorities.
Queensland positions itself internationally through leveraging opportunities from:
- Government to Government agreements;
- Government to Institution agreements eg. Smithsonian Institution; and
- International Trade Missions
International Collaborations achieves this by:
- Coordinating policy development across Government on Queensland's international collaborations;
- Providing strategic advice on Queensland's international collaboration policies, strategies and projects; and
- Facilitating whole-of-Government international collaborative agreements and projects.
International Collaborations is to be consulted on any proposed international collaborative agreement or initiative that potentially has whole-of-government impact, as well as any international collaboration requiring the signature, approval or, or endorsement by the Premier.
