The Queensland Government established the Security Planning and Coordination unit within the Department of the Premier and Cabinet and the Queensland Police Service Counter-Terrorism Strategic Policy Branch in 2003, in recognition of the threat of terrorism in the global community.

Queensland Counter-Terrorism Plan - outline of the arrangements and responsibilities for managing acts of terrorism in Queensland.

Government Asset Protection - Queensland's plan for ensuring government functions and services.

Counter-terrorism exercises - testing counter-terrorism arrangements and capabilities.

State Crisis Centre - playing a key role in how the Queensland Government manages significant incidents.

The Queensland Police Service (QPS) has operational responsibility for preventing and responding to terrorism in Queensland, and QPS will investigate terrorist activity, threats and incidents.
