From Monday 22 June, Queensland, along with the Commonwealth and all other Australian states and territories, will enter a new phase to manage the outbreak of Human Swine Influenza. The new phase is called 'Protect' and was developed to respond to a disease of moderate severity. Find out more about the new 'Protect' phase.

Pandemic influenza - information for industry

How would a pandemic affect your business? How would your business function if half your staff did not turn up to work for a week? What if this trend continued for a year? What if the influenza pandemic affected not only your business, but all of your suppliers and customers as well?

Nobody can predict when an influenza pandemic might occur. However, planning ahead could minimise the impact of a pandemic on your business, help protect your staff and contribute to national recovery.

The Queensland Government encourages all businesses to be prepared, particularly those that deliver key services. The Queensland kit (Qkit) fact sheets have been developed to:

• help you consider the impact of an influenza pandemic on your business, and
• to provide access to detailed information and planning tools.
