Suncorp Queenslanders of the Year Awards

The Suncorp Queenslanders of the Year Awards, our highest citizenship honours, recognise individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to their local communities and the state.

Winners of the 2009 awards were announced during Queensland Week.

About the awards

Established in 1981, the awards are a way of rewarding Queenslanders who have demonstrated remarkable achievement in a wide range of fields, including charity, the arts, science, business, sport and architecture.

Winners receive a $2000 grant to help further their work within their chosen field.
