Premier of Queensland's Export Awards

The Premier of Queensland's Export Awards 2008:

recognise Queensland companies' excellence in the export of goods and services to the international marketplace
acknowledge the important contribution that Queensland export businesses make to the local and national economy through job creation and increased prosperity in the community
provide the opportunity to publicly recognise the talent and innovative spirit of Queensland's leading exporters.

Arts and Entertainment
Education and Training
Emerging Exporter
Information and Communications Technology
Large Advanced Manufacturer
Large Services
Minerals and Energy
Regional Exporter
Small to Medium Services
Small to Medium Manufacturer
Small Business
Sports, Events and Tourism
Exporter of the Year

Additional awards include:

Dermot McManus Award for outstanding achievement in the field of innovation in export
Richard Joel Young Export Entrepreneur Award, for exporters under 35 years of age
Tom Burns Award recognises the success of emerging exporters to China or Vietnam
Premier of Queensland's Special Award presented to individual who has made an outstanding contribution to Queensland's export profile and success

Finalists and winners will be announced at the State awards ceremony hosted by the Honourable Anna Bligh MP, Premier of Queensland at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on 16 October 2008.

Winners of the State Export Awards automatically progress as national finalists to the Australian Export Awards. The national awards gala dinner is scheduled to be held in Melbourne on Friday 5 December 2008.
