A brief overview of the conditions of entering the awards is below. It is important that before you enter one of the categories that you read these conditions carefully. Your entry is receipt of your acceptance of these conditions.

Generic Conditions of Entry
The conditions for the 2006 Queensland Premier's Literary Awards are final. The conditions governing the Awards may change without notice.
Please note if you are entering the Unpublished Indigenous Writer - the David Uniapon Award, these conditions do not apply, please refer to the David Unaipon entry form and Conditions of Entry.

Authors must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia and must be living on the date of entry.
Authors of works entered in the Emerging Queensland Author - Manuscript Award must be a resident in Queensland for a period of 5 years up to and including the date of entry.
Works must be first published (including self-published) in the English language and offered for general sale between 1 June 2005 and 30 May 2006 (both dates inclusive), except for the Poetry Collection and the Australian Short Story Collection.
The Poetry Collection - Arts Queensland Judith Wright Calanthe Award and the Australian Short Story Collection - Arts Queensland Steele Rudd Award works must first be published in the English language and offered for general sale between 1 January 2005 to 30 May 2006.
A work shall be eligible even if nominated, short listed or awarded Other awards or prizes and works may be entered by authors, their literary agents, publishers or producers.
The decision by the Queensland Premier's Literary Awards of an entrant's Eligibility is final and no correspondence shall be entered into.
Works of joint Authorship are eligible. Joint Authorship is defined as joint responsibility by two authors for the entire text. If the winning entry is a work of joint authorship, each author will receive 50% of the prize money.
The work must be the author's work and works may not be entered in the name of a committee.
There is no entry fees for the awards and works may be entered by authors, their literary agents, publishers or producers.
Entrants must attach a completed and signed copy of the entry form for each entry.
Entry forms and copies of the relevant works must be received by the Literary Awards Coordinator by 5pm on Friday 2 June 2006 (closing date). This also applies if entering more than one category.
Copies of submitted works and manuscripts received shall become the property of the Queensland Premier's Literary Awards and shall not be returned to the relevant authors or publishers, and no correspondence will be entered into. The Literary Awards Coordinator may distribute copies of Entries to the State Library of Queensland and Other public libraries following the Awards ceremony.
Entrants will only receive advice of receipt of their entry/entries on completing the tear-off section on the bottom of the entry form. Entrants requesting a receipt will receive advice of receipt within approximately 4 weeks of the closing date.
All reasonable care will be taken, however no responsibility is accepted, for loss or damage, or for Entries that are not received by the due date.
Judges shall declare relevant conflicts of interest immediately.
The Awards will go to the entrant judges deem to possess the highest literary merit, and the judges reserve the right not to award in a category.
Judges will advise of the short list in late August 2006 and the winning Entries in September 2006.
The decision of the judges is final and conclusive and no discussion or correspondence shall be entered into regarding the Judging process with publishers, authors, translators or agents acting on behalf of the aforesaid person.
Breach of conditions of entry will render an entry invalid whether prospectively or retrospectively.
Publishers may print '2006 Queensland Premier's Literary Awards Short List' and 'Winner of the 2006 Queensland Premier's Literary Awards' on subsequent printings of relevant works.
