We coordinate a diverse program of events throughout the year for all Queenslanders to enjoy.
26 January - our national day of celebration. Marked by festivities across the country and the naming of the Australian of the Year.
Held from 12 September to 3 October, the Brisbane Festival is one of Australia's leading international arts festivals, showcasing local and international artists.
Community Cabinet meetings are a way for people to talk directly with ministers about a variety of issues. Meetings are held on various dates throughout the year.
The Ideas Festival is Queensland's leading ideas event, promoting public debate, thinking and innovation. The 2009 festival took place from 25-29 March.
Held in June, Queensland Week includes a program of events and activities designed to celebrate Queensland's people, places and achievements.
Queensland celebrates 150 years of independence from New South Wales on 10 December 2009. Events are being held all over Queensland to celebrate this milestone.
The Ekka, one of Queensland's biggest annual events, is held at the RNA Showgrounds. Dates for 2009 are 6-15 August.
The Premier of Queensland celebrates the spirit of Christmas with regional Queenslanders through the Premier's Christmas Concerts.
