A rewarding and productive way to get involved with Government is to serve on a Government board, committee or statutory authority.
There are hundreds of boards, advisory committees and statutory authorities in Queensland that draw their members from the community or professional groups. This allows them to tap into the wealth of expertise and skills outside Government.
Some boards and committees provide policy advice to Government and oversee Government trading enterprises while others are professional registration boards. Together they have considerable decision-making responsibility that can affect the social and economic wellbeing of Queenslanders.
