Corporate identity

The Queensland Government corporate logo is made up of a distinctive name style for each department or agency, used in conjunction with the symbol pictured.

Launched in April 2000, it allows all government services to be readily identifiable. It is suitable for use in all print and digital environments.

What the corporate logo means

The symbol itself was created by a leading Australian design agency. The colours have been drawn from other Queensland emblems, such as the State Coat of Arms, in order to maintain links with existing formal symbols of Queensland.

The colour of the red mantle to the left of the symbol is drawn from the shield within the State Coat of Arms. It represents the red soil common to many areas of Queensland.

The colour of the blue shield is drawn from the Maltese Cross, which is featured in both the Coat of Arms and the state flag. It is representative of our sea and sky. Its oval shape is based on a traditional Indigenous shield from the northern rainforests.

The gold rays have been developed from the Coat of Arms' battle colours and form the shape of the state, while giving an impression of the sun's rays.
