    About the register

The Queensland Register of Nominees to Government Bodies is a confidential listing of all people interested in appointment to government boards and committees.

    Who can join the register?

All Queenslanders are eligible to join the register and to be considered for a range of government boards and committees.

Nominees can also indicate whether they would like to be considered for nomination to a range of non-government bodies.

The Queensland Government encourages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, women, people with expertise in multiculturalism, young people and people with disabilities to apply to join the register.

    How are members appointed?

When a government-nominated position on a board or committee becomes vacant, Queensland Government agencies will request a search of the register for names of people with skills to suit the position.

If you are selected, you will be contacted directly by the government agency responsible for the vacancy.

Joining the register does not guarantee you will be appointed to a government body.

    Who manages the register?

The Department of the Premier and Cabinet has overall responsibility for the administration of the register.

We work closely with stakeholders such as the Office for Women, Multicultural Affairs Queensland and the Office of Youth to increase the representation of members of their respective target groups.
