Policy Research in the Department of the Premier and Cabinet has established a program of strategic collaborative research partnerships with the university and non-government research community to address emerging issues of concern to the Queensland Government.

Policy Research participates as an industry partner in a number of Australian Research Council Linkage projects.

Policy Research also commissions small collaborative research projects which address emerging issues of concern. Three reports have been released to date:

  • Smart State All Over: opportunities for broadcasting and content creation enterprises in regional Queensland prepared by the Creative Industries Research and Applications Centre at QUT;
  • Linking the Ageing Research and Policy Agenda: towards a strategy for Queensland prepared by the Australasian Centre on Ageing at the University of Queensland; and
  • Just Treatment: a review of international programs for the diversion of drug related offenders from the criminal justice system prepared by Dr Melissa Bull of the School of Justice Studies at the Queensland University of Technology.
  • Insight and Overview of Social Marketing prepared by Dr Susan Dann, Head of Research for the National Seniors Centre for Productive Ageing and Dr Stephen Dann, a Post Doctoral Research Fellow in the School of Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations at QUT.
