    Daylight Saving Research

Market research company ACNielsen was commissioned by the Department of the Premier and Cabinet to conduct research on attitudes towards daylight saving in Queensland.

    Summary

The research sought to ascertain whether there had been any substantial change in community attitudes since the 1992 referendum on daylight saving. The results enabled the Government to consider if further action was required on the issue.

The research was undertaken in three stages between July and September 2007 and included:

    • a desktop review of information relating to daylight saving
    • a telephone survey (1,000 residents and 600 businesses)
    • resident focus groups/in-depth interviews with businesses.
