Code of Conduct

The Department of Premier and Cabinet's Code of Conduct provides a general indication of expected standards of official conduct, relationships and behaviour departmental employees. It is based on the principles set out in the Public Sector Ethics Act 1994.

Summary

The Code of Conduct guides departmental employees in the use of their official positions, their powers and the resources available to them.

It includes an overview of the requirements of departmental employees, the application of public sector ethics within the workplace and how these standards are to be interpreted and applied.

The Code outlines the five ethics principles and provides hypothetical examples to explain the obligations of government employees.
