8.6 Rulings by Speakers on ministerial statements
Relevant rulings by Speakers on ministerial statements include:
- Length should be kept to a minimum.
- A lengthy ministerial statement may be tabled and/or incorporated in Hansard by leave of the House.
- The content of a ministerial statement is not controlled by Standing Orders.
- A ministerial statement is not an occasion to "engage in personalities".
