Public Service Medal awarded to four Queenslanders
Four Queensland Government public servants were honoured with the Public Service Medal (PSM) in the 2009 Queen's Birthday Honours List.

Ian Malcolm Luck PSM
For outstanding public service to Queensland education, particularly in the Mackay region, through leadership as Deputy Principal of Mackay North State High School.
Ian Luck (pictured) is a skilled fundraiser and a mentor to young teachers. The North Mackay community considers the school's excellent reputation can be largely attributed to Ian's outstanding contribution.

Dr Ross Andrew McKenzie PSM
For outstanding public service in the area of veterinary pathology and the breadth of research into plant poisoning.
Dr Ross McKenzie recently retired as a senior principal veterinary pathologist with Queensland Primary Industries and Fisheries. He worked for Primary Industries for 36 years.
One of his most notable achievements was finding the cause of the crippling bone disease 'big head' in horses, then finding ways to treat and prevent it.
Rosslyn Ann Sigvart PSM
For outstanding public service to Queensland Health and to the community of Dysart as Director of Nursing at Dysart Hospital.
Rosslyn Sigvart (pictured) has been the Director of Nursing at Dysart Hospital for the past 25 years
Rosslyn has been working for Queensland Health for 30 years, and dedicates much of her spare time to fundraising for the Dysart Hospital.

Marjorie Ann Weber PSM
For outstanding public service to Queensland through work on legacy issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Marjorie Weber has worked for what is now Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships (ATSIP) in the Department of Communities since 2001.
Marjorie, who is committed to reconciliation and social justice, currently oversees the Community and Personal Histories Unit and the Reparations Process in the department.
Doctor awarded Order of Australia
Mackay Base Hospital's Director of Emergency Medicine Dr Peter Bastable (pictured) was awarded an Order of Australia in this year's Queen's Birthday honours.
His award was for services to the development and delivery of emergency medicine in the Mackay region.
General Manager (Engineering & Technology) Ian Reeves and Principal Engineer (Quality Management) David Clifford with their award.
Engineering and Technology's excellent award
Main Roads' Engineering and Technology branch has won the Category Award - Recognition at the 2009 SAI Global Business Excellence Awards held at Rydges South Bank, Brisbane in June 2009.
The award recognises a high level of performance across all seven of the distinct categories within the SAI's Business Excellence Framework.
David Clifford, Principal Engineer (Quality Management), submitted the entry and the award acknowledges the efforts of all Engineering and Technology staff.
