Premier's Flood Relief Appeal

While the horrific bushfires in Victoria understandably grabbed the nation's attention and pulled at our heart strings, around the same time North Queenslanders were hit by devastating floods.

Almost 3000 Queensland families lost their homes, cars or possessions. Premier Anna Bligh launched a relief appeal with a $500,000 contribution from the State Government.

'No donation - whether it be $20 or $2 - is too small and every dollar will be directed toward helping flood victims,' Premier Bligh said.

You can donate by phone by calling 1800 173 349 and providing credit card details; by visiting any Queensland branch of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, NAB, Westpac Bank, ANZ Bank, Bank of Queensland or Suncorp; via internet banking (Account Name: Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal, BSB: 064 013 A/C 1000 6800) or by sending a cheque made payable to The Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal (ABN 69 689 161 916) to Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal, PO Box 15185, City East QLD 4002.

The appeal will remain open for at least two more months. All donations over $2 are tax deductible and distribution of the funds will be undertaken by the Red Cross.
