Public servants in World Cup squad
Three Queensland public servants have been selected for the Australian Indoor Cricket World Cup women's open squad.
Jude Coleman (Queensland and Australian captain) and Cindy Kross from the Department of Education and Training, and Rikki-Lee Rimmington of QBuild will play for Australia after representing Queensland at the National Championships. The Department of Communities' Maleah Harris is the Australian and Queensland team manager.
The Indoor Cricket World Cup has five categories: open men, open women, 19 and under boys, 19 and under girls, and 16 and under boys.
Eight countries will compete: Australia, India, South Africa, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Pakistan, England and Wales.
As well as Jude, Cindy and Rikki-Lee, the Queensland team included Lahnie Woodlock (Shared Service Agency) and Ange Murnane (Queensland Police Service).
Queensland dominated the national championships, with the women's open team winning their third successive title, beating New South Wales in the final 131-64.
The Indoor Cricket World Cup (external site) will be played at the Brisbane West Indoor Sports Centre, Darra, from 11 to 17 October 2009.
Tickets are available from the Official Cricket Australia Shop (external site).
