Crown Law has released a comprehensive decision-maker's manual and will hold training workshops to assist agencies understand their obligations under the Right to Information Act 2009 and the Information Privacy Act 2009.
The Right to Information and Information Privacy Decision-maker's Manual contains examples and precedents to assist key government decision-makers.
The workshops, on 13 and 14 October, will cover topics such as:
- operation of the legislation
- access to information
- grounds for refusing access
- access applications - right to information and information privacy
- public interest test
- decision letters.
The workshops will be presented by lawyers from the Administrative Law team, including Assistant Crown Solicitor Phil Boustead, Principal Lawyer Angus Scott and Senior Lawyer Renee Berry.
Workshops will benefit government decision makers, legal officers and Freedom of Information/Right to Information officers who require a practical knowledge of the recent amendments and changes required to comply with the Right to Information Act 2009.
