Place a graduate in a job

The Queensland Government Chief Information Office (QGCIO) is focusing for the first time on helping people from the ICT Career Graduate Program secure jobs in government.

'In these tough economic times we know finding a job at the end of the program isn't a certainty, so we are delivering a placement program to help people get suitable government roles,' Project Manager Terry Trevarthen said.

The The QGCIO will identify appropriate roles for the graduates and provide agencies with access to a register of skilled professionals available to fill temporary and permanent roles.

Warren Edie (pictured), who works with the Shared Services Agency, is one of 30 graduates about to finish the program. Warren said he and his fellow participants have developed new skills and knowledge, and have a strong desire to remain with the Queensland Government after the program ends.
