Right to Information principles

The new Right to Information Act 2009 (PDF, 1.04 MB) (external site) and the Information Privacy Act 2009 (PDF, 1.05 MB) (external site) have now replaced Freedom of Information (FOI) laws.

The Right to Information Statement of Principles (PDF, 63 KB) from Premier Anna Bligh to Queensland public servants was also released on I July 2009.


My Gen at the Gallery

My Gen, the Queensland Art Gallery's new public program, recognises that age is an attitude for any generation.

The program endorses the sentiment of The Who's 60s anthem, My Generation, which encouraged expression of originality.

My Gen was launched in June 2009. It provides art, film and musical activities aimed at baby boomers, although people of any age should enjoy the program.

The My Gen (external site) program at the Queensland Art Gallery (external site) runs until 20 September 2009.


Crown Law's 150th

Crown Law celebrated its 150th anniversary in style on 9 May, with a grand ball at the Hilton Hotel.

Over 380 guests attended, including current and former staff, and Attorney-General Cameron Dick.


Public servants benefit from masterclass

A one-day masterclass on 'Benefits Realisation Management' held at Parliament House in June attracted 45 Queensland State and local government participants.

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) delivered the masterclass in partnership with the Business Improvement in Government (BIIG) network. Steve Jenner (pictured), Principal Advisor Benefits to the UK Cabinet Office, conducted the masterclass.
