Kay McGrath OAM

Ms McGrath is an award-winning journalist and presenter with 40 years’ experience in the media. She has presented prime time news bulletins in Queensland for 32 years. In addition to her journalism, Kay has worked as a facilitator, speaker and Master of Ceremonies and supports a variety of community causes. She is Chair of the Domestic and Family Violence Implementation Council, patron of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, former patron and co-founder of Protect all Children Today, an Ambassador for Act for Kids and Vice Patron of the Queensland Breast and Prostate Cancer Association. She is also the face of Women in Media Queensland.

Katie Noonan

Katie Noonan

For more than 20 years, Katie Noonan has been one of Australia’s most revered musical talents. A singer, songwriter, producer, pianist, mother and fierce champion of the arts, Noonan’s career has seen her win five ARIA Awards, go seven times platinum, release over a dozen studio albums and be voted one of the greatest Australian singers of all time by the Herald Sun

Katie first rose to prominence as the angel-voiced vocalist behind george, the legendary Australian band who broke through in 2002 with their #1 album Polyserena

Since then, Katie’s extensive discography has spanned excursions between classical music, opera, jazz, folk and electronic sounds, with her extraordinary vocals always at the fore. 

Katie is a passionate advocate in the fight against domestic and family violence, using her role as an artist and her work as the artistic director of the Queensland Music Festival to bring voice to the cause.

Peterson Opio

Peterson Opio

Peterson Opio is the Executive Manager of the Ambassadors and Advocates Program at White Ribbon Australia, the world’s largest social movement of men and boys working to end men’s violence and abuse against women and girls.

Throughout his career, Peterson has shown dedication, integrity and leadership in improving and addressing some of the injustices and inequalities in Australian society, drawing upon his experience in executive management to bring innovative entrepreneurship to not-for-profit organisations.

In managing the Ambassadors and Advocates program, Peterson provides advice on the diverse ways that men are able to contribute as role models in their communities to personally and professionally engage and inspire other men to stand up, speak out and act to prevent men’s abuse of women in all its forms.

Linden Peacock

Linden Peacock

Linden Peacock studies a Bachelors of Arts/Laws at the University of Queensland, and has spent over four years being a leader and activist in the non-for-profit industry. Currently, she is a National Director responsible for People & Culture in the One Woman Project, one of Australia’s fastest growing, youth-led non-for-profit organisations. She fosters the growth of the organisation by coordinating its volunteers across Australia and internationally, and created its inaugural Youth Ambassador Program. 

The philosophy of the One Woman Project is one that deeply resonates with Linden: education about global inequality can empower young people to create tangible, positive change in their communities. For her work with the One Woman Project and UN Youth Australia, she was lucky enough to be a recipient of the 2017 Zonta International Young Women in Public Affairs Award.

Andrew Taukolo

Andrew Taukolo

Andrew Taukolo is a young Australian male of Tongan descent. He works as a Youth Ambassador for the R4Respect program, an education strategy led by young people for young people to develop the values, knowledge and skills required to build respectful relationships. Andrew is also a Case Manager for the YouthLink program, which works with young people disengaging from the community. Andrew knows the importance of young men stepping up to take action to reduce male violence. 

Andrew recently graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice. While studying he was a member of the Griffith Logan University premiership winning Redbacks Rugby League Club. Andrew initiated a partnership between the Redbacks and R4Respect resulting in R4Respect sponsorship branding on the Redback’s jersey. During his time as a Youth Ambassador, Andrew has been invited to present at the AWAVA international conference on gender based violence and other national conferences. He is also an appointed member of the Policy Advisory Group for the National Communities Attitudes towards violence against Women Survey which is led by Australia’s National Research Organisation for Women’s Safety (ANROWS).
