    Code of Conduct for the Queensland Public Service

    The Department of the Premier and Cabinet has adopted the single ‘Code of Conduct for the Queensland Public Service’ and is effective from 1 January 2011.

    Summary

    The Code is based on the new public sector ethics principles as outlined in the Public Sector Ethics Act 1994:

    • integrity and impartiality
    • promoting the public good
    • commitment to the system of government
    • accountability and transparency.

    All employees are expected to uphold the code by committing to and demonstrating the intent and spirit of the ethics principles and values.

    The Code is applicable to employees of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet and includes volunteers, students, contractors, consultants and anyone employed in any other capacity.
