    Equity and Diversity Plan

The Department of the Premier and Cabinet is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable and diverse work environment where every individual feels valued, respected and empowered to bring their whole self to work.

There are obligations under Part 2 of the Public Sector Act 2022 which aims to promote, support and progress equity and diversity in relation to employment matters, including Section 28, conducting an annual equity and diversity audit, report and plan.

The Department of the Premier and Cabinet’s Equity and Diversity Plan 2023 - 2026 (PDF, 4MB) identifies actions for improving employment outcomes and employee experiences for:

    • Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples
    • people with disability
    • people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, who speak a language other than English at home
    • women, including women in leadership
    • people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex, queer and questioning, plus (LGBTIQ+).

The actions within the plan are derived from both the findings of the 2023 DPC Equity and Diversity Report, along with key actions from DPC’s Cultural Capability Action Plan, Disability Service Plan and the Queensland Multicultural Action Plan.

The plan aims to implement actionable strategies and initiatives to foster an inclusive workplace. This includes promoting equitable recruitment practices, implementing inclusive policies, providing diversity training, and establishing support networks for our target groups.

This plan will be reviewed annually to reflect changes from contributing plans and the outcomes of the annual Equity and Diversity Audit.
